Funded by Construction Skills Queensland, Australian Trade Training College (ATTC) can now deliver higher level qualifications through the Higher Level Skills General Construction program in the Brisbane North, Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast regions to current and eligible building and construction workers. These qualifications can provide opportunities and pathways to get you into an exciting new job as workers with higher level skills are seen as valuable employees.

A need for these higher level qualifications has been identified in the specified regions due to anticipated industry demands. In particular, the Gold Coast region is experiencing increased activity in the building and construction industry due to the preparation and skilled workers needed for the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

Training and assessment of these qualifications will be conducted through a combination of Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), face-to-face and supported online learning using ATTC’s online learning management system. Walk away with a detailed depth of knowledge and experience which can be used to pursue higher level job roles working on major projects occurring in industry.

ATTC is able to deliver the following nationally recognised qualifications funded by Construction Skills Queensland’s Higher Level Skills General Construction program:

  • BSB50215 Diploma of Business
  • BSB51415 Diploma of Project Management
  • CPC40110 Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Building)

Delivery of qualifications will be from experts in the trade providing learners with training relevant to the needs of local industry.

CSQ Higher Level Skills General Construction Program

To be eligible to enrol in the Higher Level Skills General Construction program, participants must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or a permanent resident of Australia or a refugee and humanitarian visa holder; and must permanently reside in Queensland or be permanently employed in Queensland as a current employee or eligible worker in the Building and Construction industry.

Definitions

An existing worker is a current employee in the Building and Construction industry who has a one month or more employment relationship with their employer. The working relationship can be built up through full-time, part-time or casual employment or engagement as a contract worker.

An eligible worker has the same meaning as the Building and Construction industry (portable long services leave) Act 1991 (QLD) as amended from time to time.
