Parent Pathways: Meet Rebekah Griinke-Nott

At Parent Pathways, our focus is on supporting parents and carers every step of the way. Rebekah Griinke-Nott, MRAEL’s Regional Leader, shares how challenges are effectively addressed to ensure every parent receives tailored support. MRAEL delivers the Parent Pathways program, a voluntary support initiative for parents and carers of children under six. In partnership with the Australian Government, this essential service offers free, personalised support to help parents achieve their personal, training, or work goals—all tailored to suit their family’s needs.

Surprising Discoveries: Parents often find our program is not just about receiving support, it is also about becoming advocates for themselves and their families. “We help parents develop confidence and skills to navigate complex systems, access resources, and build a stronger support network,” Rebekah notes.

Flexibility for Busy Parents: We understand the demands of parenting, so our program is designed to be highly flexible. Whether you prefer online sessions, in-person meetings, or a mix of both, we have options to fit your schedule. Our mobile mentors are always available to provide support via phone, email, or text. “Our program is designed to be adaptable and responsive to the unique needs of busy parents,” Rebekah emphasises.

Navigating Challenges: Implementing our Parent Pathways program involves attracting and retaining participants, especially those from underrepresented or less accessible communities. We maintain engagement through culturally sensitive outreach, flexible scheduling, and incentives. Building trust and leveraging technology are crucial, as is ensuring cultural sensitivity and incorporating participant feedback. We also partner with community organisations and cultural experts to inform our program and maintain robust data privacy protocols.

A Message to Uncertain Parents: If you’re unsure about getting started, Rebekah has a message for you: “You’re not alone. Our program is a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your concerns and gain the confidence you need. We’ll work with you to create a personalised plan that fits your unique needs. There’s no pressure, just a supportive team here to help you thrive.”
